Causes of eyebrow

transplantation and eyebrow loss

Eyebrows are a critical feature that helps define our gaze. The eyebrow is located in a central position on the face and has an importance that affects the appearance of the person framing the eyes (the most important element on the face) much more than the hair. Eyebrow transplantation is the most painstaking and most inconvenient among other applications ( hair transplantation and beard transplantation).

Eyebrows can be shed over time for a variety of reasons, including thyroid and other systemic diseases, alopecia areata, burns, tattoos, infections, repeated plucking, congenital inability to grow eyebrows, or a genetic tendency to thin eyebrows.

Eyebrow restoration, like any other scalp hair transplant procedure, is a permanent procedure for suitable candidates. Because eyebrows have their own characteristics, but eyebrow transplantation is different than hair transplantation.

Eyebrow Transplantation

Transplantation Process

Eyebrow transplantation is more accurate with Sapphire FUE or DHI FUE technique. The success rate is higher when done with these techniques.

  1. Examination: the appropriate eyebrow format is determined during the examination. This format is determined by the expert according to the structure of the person’s face and eye circumference. Another important consideration is the structure of the hair follicles in the donor area of the person.
  2. Hair follicle removal: since the eyebrow area to be transplanted is not too large , there is no need to completely shave the donor area. Only shaving the area determined by the expert will be enough. Since this area is a small area, it is possible to camouflage this area with the surrounding hair. With the classic FUE technique, hair roots are carefully taken one by one.
  3. Hair follicle transplant stage: if the procedure is to be performed using Sapphire FUE technique , the hair shafts in which the roots will settle are opened by mimicking their aspects of the eyebrow hair into the specified format. Then the hair follicles are transplanted into these shafts by experts. If the procedure is to be performed using the DHI FUE technique, the hair roots are transplanted by experts with the help of Choi pens into the specified format. In this technique, there is no need to open shafts, as in Sapphire FUE.

Four tips for eyebrow transplantation:

  • For eyebrow transplantation, only single Hair Root should be used, not multiple hair roots.
  • Hair roots should be rotated in accordance with the natural direction of exit.
  • Transplanted hair roots should be planted on the surface of the skin in a horizontal position as possible.
  • Transplanted grafts, eyebrows to be compatible with the face in a natural way to be planted, for this, the parts that need to be slightly upward or horizontal elongation must be very well designed. In addition, a slight curve should be formed right in the middle of both eyebrows, just as in natural eyebrows.
